Holiday Happenings Near You!

What better way to kick off the holiday season than with with a holiday tree lighting and festive parade? On Black Friday, November 27th, bring the family to downtown Niles in Fremont for this annual traditionthe Niles Holiday Parade!

The tree lighting begins at 6pm and the parade starts at 6:30. Be sure to get there early to get a parking spot and a good place to view the parade!

Sponsored in part by Fremont Flowers and Dale Hardware, this year’s parade is sure to feature many local marching bands, scout troops, karate classes, hot rods, bikers, an Elvis impersonator, the Fremont Fire Department dance troops and…..SANTA, of course!

Mr. Mikey’s Country Store will be serving delicious hot snacks outside and inside if you get there early enough there will still be stores open to browse while waiting for the parade!

If you live in or closer to Pleasanton, they also have their own festivities called the Holiday Hometown Celebration. On Saturday, December 5th, Main St in downtown Pleasanton will transform into a winter wonderland with various entertainment, tree lighting, parade with marching bands and various community groups and a visit from Santa Claus!

Main St will be closed form 3:30-7:30 so you can plan to enjoy the afternoon with your friends and family in holiday spirit.

San Jose is well known for many fun, family-oriented activities, and if you live in the Bay Area you can’t miss their Christmas in the Park.

In Downtown San Jose’s Cesar Plaza de Cesar Chavez, the annual tree lighting will be held on Friday, November 27 at 6pm where Santa will make a special visit.

Christmas in the Park features many events throughout December and so much to see that you might have to take the family more than once–lots to eat and experience. Go ice skating, ride the ferris wheel, and take in the lights and sights with your loved ones for a time you will always remember.
