Bay Area Zoo Lights!

Love visiting our wonderful local zoos? Looking for something fun to do with the kids this holiday season? If you haven’t experienced Zoo Lights yet, it’s something fun for all ages to visit.

Oakland Zoo Lights

Every evening, from December 4 – January 3, Oakland Zoo will be featuring their Zoo Lights display. With hundreds of thousands LED lights brightening up the Oakland hillside the zoo sits on, it’s sure to be a magical experience.

Oakland Zoo Lights features a light show, a candy cane lane themed ride area and light show designed to dazzle. Tickets are $8, children and seniors are $7 and children 2 and under and adults over 80 are free!

Santa will be visiting the zoo on starting Friday, December 18 until Wednesday, December 23 from 6-9 pm, and the kids are sure to be mesmerized by his special visit among all the lights! This Friday and Saturday, December 18 and 19, there will also be a children’s zoo where the little ones can meet a zookeeper and get their face painted.

San Francisco Zoo Lights

The San Francisco Zoo Lights will begin its Pre-Christmas display from December 19-23, and features the Post-Christmas display from December 26-30.

The kids can visit with Santa’s Reindeer, parents can explore the Holiday Market Place, and there’s a midway as well as live entertainment! Santa will be there as well. The Little Puffer Steam Train features a tour of the lit-up zoo that everyone can enjoy!

Tickets for the San Francisco Zoo Lights are $7, and kids ages 4-14 are $5. Kids 3 and under and members are free! It’s a great night out for the whole family.
